April 2025 Blog Train and Fan Freebie

I, for one, am so glad that winter is almost over and spring is pretty much on its way!  The early spring flowers are coming up fast and some are already blooming.  The color palette this month was so much fun to work with. I used the same colors in the Fan Freebie so you have more papers and elements to create your pages.

Fan Freebie --

Amazingly, bunnies don't bother my flowerbeds or garden.  I used to cut down all the dried stems before winter, but then I read about just leaving them until spring.  For whatever reason, the plants seem to come up stronger with nicer blooms.  I'm not sure why it would make a difference, but it does.

The Boo Update -

This isn't the type of photo I would usually share, but since all of you have been reading my blog since Boo joined our family, I thought you might like to see him at his annual veterinary visit.  No, he isn't hissing.  He's hyperventilating.  He knows we're going to the Vet when I pull his carrier out of the closet.  So, by the time we get into the examination room, he's breathing heavy on my husband's lap.  Our vet is so good with him, he really has nothing to worry about.  But, here he is . . . not one of his finer moments.  Poor boy!  The minute he's back in his carrier in my car and we're heading home, he's fine again.

See you next month!

Aww, poor baby. I've learned a few things about cats and carriers over the years and now have 4 that regularly sleep in them and actually find them a source of security. We have a lot of tornado weather and it makes it much easier to get them to the basement on such occasions.
A few tips for cats and carriers:
1 - Always leave the carrier out in the open with a nice comfy blanket in it. Even better if you have slept with it so it smells like you. It's comforting to them. Carrier no longer a strange object.
2 - Once he gets used to it, put him in it and go for a short ride in the car , even just around the block, several times a week. Bring him back in the house and release him. You're letting him know that the carrier is not just for a destination that he fears.
3 - If he likes special treats, put them in the carrier only. Another reason for him to like the carrier.

Maybe some of this can help his stress level.

My cat hates going to the Vet. He hides from Us or gets in some very difficult spot to grab him. Thank you for these lovely things!

Thank you for the lovely kits for the month. It is so good to finally see some signs of spring. Not liking the nasty snow and ice storms we get in between the sunny days but that transition will soon be over. TIme to enjoy the spring garden and the slightly warmer temps! :)

Oh, poor baby! I've heard about leaving the carrier out so it's not a scary thing, but still none of our (5) cats like it much. Oh, well! Vet visits are sometimes necessary and they get through it. Kind of like us with doctor visits and such. Thanks so much for your gifts! It's nice to see spring starting to happen here. My lilac bushes have green on them and pretty soon the buds will be out. Wooo!!
